Disappointing Dickens — Charles Dickens' son in the Australian outback
That Edward 'Plorn' Dickens, the tenth child of the famous Great Expectations author, lived and died in remote NSW, is not widely known.
Historian and novelist Tom Keneally has long been interested in the story, and used it as the basis for his most recent novel.
