The 100: Why Clarke Is The Main Character (& Why It's Octavia)

Viewers were introduced to Clarke Griffin before anyone else on The 100. At the time, her voiceover explained the apocalypse as she sat in solitary drawing on the floor. Over the years, Clarke was at the center of nearly every event. Although Clarke has done good and bad things, she was looked at to make the most prominent choices for humanity.

However, one of her most significant competitors for the main character is Octavia Blake. While this may not be easy to see in the first season, collectively, Octavia grew so much from the series premiere to the finale. Beaten, bruised, and came out the other side, Octavia has dealt with many emotional and physical storylines. While Octavia may not have always made the best decisions, she did have her moments of knowing the right thing to do.

Sexual predator takes plea deal in murders of two 6-year-olds after LA district attorney reverses course

In a rare deviation from the controversial sentencing policies of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, prosecutors cemented a plea deal Monday expected to send a violent predator to prison for the rest of his life without the possibility of parole for the murders of 6-year-old Jeffrey Vargo of Anaheim Hills and another boy.

During a hearing in Pomona Courthouse South, Kenneth Kasten Rasmuson, 59, sat shackled at the waist next to his defense attorney and quietly pleaded no contest to two counts of murder with the special circumstance of multiple slayings.

A judge is expected to sentence Rasmuson to life in prison without parole during another hearing on April 27. He was accused of abducting Jeffrey near his home in 1981 and killing him in Agoura Hills. The second boy, 6-year-old Miguel Antero, was kidnapped in 1986 and his body was found dumped in an Agoura Hills canyon.

Do you think everyone is interested in seeing you naked? How does this elephant deserve to have treatment?” As per The Sun, another person wrote, “Poor elephant. Aren’t you ashamed to lie naked on an elephant? This is a living creature. Money overshadows everything.” Many animal groups including Save the Asian Elephants, also condemned her actions and described the post as ‘something else tragic’.

Diane Wilson: The life and times of a veteran of the boards

When somebody says, well, I started out young and I always knew that this was what I wanted to do, it’s usually a fairly meaningless generalisation. But when veteran actress Diane Wilson says it, it rings true and bold. In fact, what she says is this: “I was a war baby born in 1941. My father and mother conceived me in 1940 and he immediately left to join the war. My mother had to work so I started school as a boarder at Durban Girls College at the age of four. I moved as a boarder to Maris Stella Convent where Joan Brickhill was my drama mistress. She told me that I was a born actress so naturally I believed her and decided at the age of nine that that was what I was going to do.”

And there’s serendipity right there. A born actress, and who should your school drama mistress be but Joan Brickhill, grande dame of the South African stage. But that was all a lifetime ago. Diane Wilson, who was named after the song Diane, the theme song from the 1927 silent movie Seventh Heaven (later a smash hit for Irish vocal harmony group The Bachelors in the Sixties), has just turned 80, and Maverick Life approached her for an interview to mark this milestone.
