Trump White House associate tied to Proud Boys before riot via cell phone data

The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) used location, cellular and call record data to make the connection between the unnamed person and the fringe far-right group.

The Times also noted that none of the phone data showed any connection between rioters and members of Congress on Jan. 6. In the aftermath of the insurrection, Democrats made claims that Republicans lawmakers had been involved in the incident, leading to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) calling for any members of Congress involved to be criminally charged.

"All are suspected to have entered the U.S. illegally," the agency said in a statement. "Border Patrol is investigating the smuggling events."

Internal watchdog said ex-Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao misused position, referred case for prosecution

The U.S. Transportation Department's inspector general's office formally investigated former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao for potential violations of ethics rules and misuse of her position — and ultimately referred the case for criminal prosecution in late 2020.

The inspector general's investigation focused, among other things, on how Chao — who is married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. — may have aided her family's shipping company, Foremost Group, which does significant business in China, according to a report that was publicly released this week.

There is ‘video proof of Canberra double standards’ towards rape allegations

Sky News host Paul Murray says there is clearly “one rule for one and one rule for the other” when comparing the scrutiny given to former opposition leader Bill Shorten and Attorney General Christian Porter.

Mr Porter fronted the media on Wednesday where he vehemently denied any wrongdoing in relation to allegations of sexual assault dating back to 1988.

NSW Police had confirmed it won't proceed with an investigation into the historical rape allegation against the Cabinet minister.

FBI chasing 2,000 domestic terror cases; 'raw' warning shared with police before Capitol attack, Wray says

FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday described an ominous warning the night before the Capitol riots about the prospect for extreme violence as "raw, unverified uncorroborated information" — but claimed that the bureau's report was shared extensively with Capitol police and other authorities.

Wray said the report, which concluded that extremists were "preparing for war," was provided to authorities at the command level, distributed to its local Joint Terrorism Task network and also posted on a national electronic portal for review by law enforcement authorities across the country.

Popular flea collar linked to almost 1,700 pet deaths. The EPA has issued no warning.

Rhonda Bomwell had never used a flea and tick collar before. Pierre, her 9-year-old Papillon service dog, was mostly an indoor animal.

Still, her veterinarian recommended she purchase one, so Bomwell went to the pet store near her home in Somerset, New Jersey, and selected Bayer’s Seresto collar.

A day later, on June 2, 2020, Pierre had a seizure, collapsing while Bomwell was making dinner. Lying on his back, the dog stopped breathing and his eyes rolled back.

FBI Director Wray knocks down conspiracy theory that January 6 rioters were 'fake Trump protesters'

Washington (CNN)FBI Director Chris Wray told lawmakers Tuesday that the FBI has not seen any evidence indicating that the rioters who took part in the January 6 US Capitol attack were "fake Trump protesters," knocking down a baseless claim that has been pushed by Republican Sen. Ron Johnson in recent weeks as he has sought to downplay the violence committed by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Testifying publicly for the first time since pro-Trump rioters breached the Capitol nearly two months ago, Wray was pressed by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Dick Durbin

Cuomo acquiesces to demand that Attorney General Letitia James control inquiry

New York state Attorney General Letitia James, who in January released a report that claimed Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration dramatically undercounted COVID-19 nursing home deaths in the state, will have full control over the sexual harassment inquiry that threatens his administration.

James said Sunday that she expected to be granted a referral that would give her office subpoena power and allow her to deputize an outside law firm for "a rigorous and independent investigation" after Cuomo announced Sunday he would grant her request.
