Monica Lewinsky Has Something Funny To Say About The Clinton Impeachment Trial

On February 13, 2021, President Donald Trump was acquitted in his second impeachment trial after being accused of inciting the riot and violence that took place at the United States Capitol Building on January 6 (per CBS News). The trial, which took place over the course of five days, attracted attention from millions of people around the world – including former White House intern and current activist Monica Lewinsky.

A few decades before the impeachment trials of President Donald Trump, Lewinsky was directly involved in another political scandal involving President Bill Clinton. Kerryn Phelps to run for Sydney Lord Mayor, challenging former political rival Clover Moore

Former MP Kerryn Phelps will challenge political rival Clover Moore in an attempt to become Sydney's Lord Mayor in this year's September election.

The former federal member for Wentworth said it was time to bring in a new era after 17 years of the same leadership which has "grown stale".

"I am up against an incumbent with massive resources but it's time to place the City of Sydney in new safe hands," she said.

Ms Moore is looking to win her fifth term this year, after the 2020 local government elections were postponed due to COVID-19.

As part of her push for Lord Mayor, Dr Phelps flagged improving infrastructure, helping small businesses and reviving the night-time economy as priorities.

"Going forward, it's important that we look at improving every single area," she said.

The high-profile GP said the council needed to plan and budget well and be strategic around spending, as the city recovers from the financial impacts of COVID-19.

Rainbow Path In Australia Commemorates Legalization Of Same-Sex Marriage

It’s been more than three years since Australia voted to legalize same-sex marriage. To commemorate the historic 2017 decision that gave Aussie LGBTQ couples the right to marry, the country’s largest city commissioned a giant rainbow road in a park as a permanent tribute.

Spanning 90 meters (or about 295 feet), the painting of the rainbow road was completed just in time for Sydney’s annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras celebration.

Take a look at the rainbow path in this tweet from the City of Sydney .

The placement of the rainbow path is meaningful. It’s located at the site inside of Sydney’s Prince Albert Park where same-sex marriage supporters gathered together on Nov. 15, 2017, to hear the results of Australia’s marriage equality postal survey.

Biologists Name New Howler Monkey Species That Pee On Each Other After Donald Trump

A new species of howler monkey just discovered deep in the Amazon river basin has been named after President Donald Trump.

The monkey, scientifically named Alouatta donaldea trumpis, is blonde-haired and spends most of its time in the Amazon canopy foraging for flowers, fruits, and nuts. The monkey has a complex social structure, with trumpis monkeys living in groups of six to fifteen.

The most startling similarity to President Trump, however, is the trumpis monkey’s reproductive behavior. Following copulation the female trumpis monkey will pee on its male mate.

Tiger Woods is recovering from major surgery after a high-speed car crash

Los Angeles (CNN)Tiger Woods was "awake, responsive, and recovering" in the hospital from major surgery, according to a statement on his Twitter account on Tuesday, after a high-speed rollover car crash near Los Angeles.

The 45-year-old golf legend was driving shortly after 7 a.m. PT Tuesday in Rancho Palos Verdes when his SUV crossed a median and veered across two lanes of road before hitting a curb, hitting a tree and landing on its side in the brush, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.

Woods remained conscious and calm but sustained serious leg injuries.

He underwent a lengthy emergency surgery on his lower right leg and ankle at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, the statement said. The leg fractures were "comminuted," meaning the bone was broken into more than two parts, and "open," meaning the broken bone was exposed to open air, creating risk of an infection, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anish Mahajan said in the statement.

Huawei Releases 5GtoB Solution

Shanghai, China, February 22, 2021] Huawei's Executive Director and Carrier Business Group President Ryan Ding gave a keynote speech at the company's "5G Brings New Value" forum held at the MWC Shanghai 2021, where he announced the official launch of Huawei's new 5GtoB solution. During his speech, Ding talked about the developments, commercial returns, and opportunities for industry digitalization that 5G would bring.

The 5G industry has been developing faster than expected, with operators already seeing commercial returns from the first wave of 5G rollouts. The 5G user base and the number of 5G devices in commercial use have exploded since 2019. By the end of 2020, 380 5G devices had hit the market, 8 times more than there were the year before. The mobile 5G user base had also reached 220 million and wireless home broadband connections reached 1.05 million, a 17 and 21 times YoY increase, respectively. Ding claims these numbers will triple in 2021.

'Society is changing': A record 5.6% of US adults identify as LGBTQ, poll shows. And young people are driving the numbers.

A record number of U.S. adults – 5.6% – identify as LGBTQ, an increase propelled by a younger generation staking out its presence in the world, a poll released Wednesday shows.

The survey by Gallup marks more than a 1 percentage point jump from the last poll in 2017 in which 4.5% of adults identified as LGBTQ.

The estimated 18 million adults who identify as LGBTQ represent a continued upward trajectory since Gallup started tracking identification in 2012, Gallup senior editor Jeff Jones said.

“It reflects what we are seeing in society and the way society is changing,” he said.

One of the biggest headlines in the 2020 poll is the emergence of Generation Z adults, those 18 to 23: 1 in 6, or 15.9%, identify as LGBTQ. In each older generation, LGBTQ identification is lower, including 2% or less of respondents born before 1965.

For the first time, Gallup queried respondents on their precise sexual orientation, rather than a simple yes or no on whether someone identified as LGBTQ, allowing more insight into identity, Jones said.

Among LGBTQ adults, a majority or 54.6% identify as bisexual, the poll shows. About a quarter, or 24.5%, identify as gay; 11.7% as lesbian; 11.3% as transgender.
