There is ‘video proof of Canberra double standards’ towards rape allegations

Sky News host Paul Murray says there is clearly “one rule for one and one rule for the other” when comparing the scrutiny given to former opposition leader Bill Shorten and Attorney General Christian Porter.

Mr Porter fronted the media on Wednesday where he vehemently denied any wrongdoing in relation to allegations of sexual assault dating back to 1988.

NSW Police had confirmed it won't proceed with an investigation into the historical rape allegation against the Cabinet minister.

New Russian variant of COVID-19 detected in Queensland hotel quarantine

Passengers aboard a Qatar Airways flight that landed in Brisbane last month will have their quarantine period extended after it was revealed several people on board tested positive for the Russian strain of coronavirus.

Due to be released from isolation today, all 74 passengers will have their quarantine period extended for a further five days as authorities investigate and organise additional testing.

Thor cast spotted filming on brand new set in Sydney golf course

Thor cast members were spotted filming at a production set in Sydney’s south on Tuesday.

As seen in the video above, 7NEWS aerial shots appeared to show Chris Hemsworth, Matt Damon and Idris Elba on a newly-constructed set at a Little Bay golf course.

Chris Hemsworth could be seen decked out in his full costume of the thunder god, raising his hammer and playing out an action scene. 

Returned travellers have Brisbane hotel quarantine stay extended after Russian COVID-19 variant scare

Passengers and crew on an international flight that arrived in Brisbane last month have been forced to extend their hotel quarantine stay after several cases of the Russian COVID-19 variant were detected.

Queensland Health confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au that two cases of the B1.1.317 variant were recorded among passengers on Qatar Airways flight QR898, which arrived from Doha on February 17. 

Party store owner creates massive Ted Cruz pinata amid Mexico holiday scandal

One store owner decided to take a controversy on the news and make it into a party item.

Carlos De La Fuente, the owner of ABC Party HQ in Dallas, created a pinata inspired by the viral photos of Republican Senator Ted Cruz, walking through the Cancun International Airport. 

The image circulated widely following the backlash over the senator’s recent trip to Mexico amid the state’s historic winter storm.

In the photo, Cruz sported a mask with the Texas flag as he rolled his suitcase.
